The Dream Car Museum is partnering with Heartsavers for the month of July. Heartsavers mission is to reduce the sudden cardiac death through the placement of life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the Tri-State. Sudden cardiac death chooses its victims without regard to age, gender, health status or history.
You can donate to this charity in the month of July at the Dream Car Museum. Want to know more? See the flyers below!
One of the first things you see when you walk into the museum now is this cool little Midget! This 1946 Kurtis- Kraft Offenhauser Midget is thought to be from around the Cleveland area but the little is known about its history. There were only about 57 of these cars built.
From 1934, through the 1970’s, the Offenhauser engine dominated American Open wheel racing. This engine won the Indianapolis 500 27 times. One of the keys to the Offenhauser engine’s success and popularity was its power. A 251.92 cubic inch (4,128.29 cm³) DOHC four-cylinder racing Offy with a 15:1 compression ratio and a 4.28125-by-4.375-inch (108.744 mm × 111.125 mm) bore and stroke, could produce 420 hp (310 kW) at 6,600 rpm (1.77 hp per cubic inch (81 kW/L). Other variants of the engine produced even higher outputs of 3 hp per cubic inch (137 kW/L). Another reason for the engine’s success was its reliability; its monobloc construction meant it was not vulnerable to head gasket or cylinder stud problems, and allowed for higher cylinder pressures.
Head on into the Dream Car Museum today and check out this awesome Midget!
This car was used during the filming of the 2001 movie that ignited an entirely new generation to the passion of cars. The 1970 Charger shown at the Dream Car Museum, and at the Showplace Cinema next Wednesday, was used during the climactic race near the end of the movie where Vin Diesel’s character, Dom Toretto, crashes into a truck and dramatically flips the car multiple times.
The car is on display in the condition it was left at the end of filming and is accompanied by a wide assortment of other “Fast and Furious” memorabilia.
The viewing of the movies start at 7pm but you can see this awesome piece of history anytime afternoon.
If you visited the museum then chances are this beauty caught your eye.
The 2014 McLaren MP4-2C features a carbon fiber composite chassis and is powered by a 3.8 Liter V-8 engine. It can go 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. It is crazy fast with top speeds of 205 miles per hour!
Our McLaren has a 7 speed dual clutch, automatic with manual shifting mode.
This car is not only fast but it’s beautiful too.
I would say you don’t want to over look this beauty but I’m pretty confident you can’t.
